Seasons channel continues to expand in Canada, reaches distribution agreement with Vidéotron

Thursday, June 08, 2017

Seasons, a channel distributed by Canal+ Group subsidiary Thema, has been enjoying growing success since it moved into Canada in the fall of 2016. It recently reached a distribution agreement with Vidéotron, Quebec’s largest cable operator. This French-language travel channel dedicated to hunting, fishing and nature is already available via Bell Télé Fibe, Cogeco, CCAP, Sogetel and Cablevision, and Vidéotron subscribers will be able to start enjoying it on 15 June.

The channel started running a large-scale image campaign in Canada shortly after setting foot in the country, for example taking part in hunting and fishing trade fairs throughout the province and thereby reaching many of Quebec’s 400,000 hunters and almost 815,000 fishers. These enthusiasts have been looking forward to the announcement that the channel is now available on Vidéotron.

Seasons is a standard-setter in the hunting and fishing community. Its programmes rotate with the seasons and feature these practices and their variants around the world. The channel’s weekly highlights include Terroirs, a magazine about men and women perpetuating their regions’ traditions, Pêches Modernes, a magazine about the latest technological breakthroughs in fishing, and Chasses au Pluriel, a programme about responsible hunting geared to protecting the environment. Each week, Seasons airs 50 hours of programmes about hunting and 50 hours of programmes about fishing, including previously-unreleased documentaries and regular magazines.
